IVANOVIC: FOOTBALL CAREER IN FOCUS

Serbian star Branislav Ivanovic began his football career at hometown club FK Srem. At the start of 2004, Branislav Ivanovic moved to OFK Belgrade in the top flight in his native Serbia. He spent two years more in Serbian football before signing for Lokomotiv Moscow in the Russian Premier League. Ivanovic won his first trophy as a professional footballer during his time at Lokomotiv Moscow.At Lokomotiv Moscow, BranislavIvanovic won the 2007 Russian Cup.

Premier League outfit Chelsea splashed the cash to sign Ivanovicduring the winter transfer window in 2009 and he proved to be an excellent signing for the club. The Blues paid just £9m to secure his transfer from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow. At Chelsea, he won nine major trophies including three Premier League titles. He also won three FA Cups, the League Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League.Ivanovic was part of the Chelsea squad that made history by winning the Champions League for the first time at the end of the 2011/12 season.

In total, BranislavIvanovic scored 34 goals in 377 games as a Chelsea player thus making him one of just five players to make at least 300 appearances for the club. Only former Chelsea captain John Terry has scored more as a defender for the West London club. He made the PFA Team of the Year two times during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Ivanovic returned to the Russian Premier League as a free agent in 2017 in the colours of Zenit Saint Petersburg. He then returned to play for West Brom in the Premier  League three years later.

BranislavIvanovic scored 13 goals in over 100 games for Serbia at senior international level having made his debut in June 2005. He featured for Serbia at the 2010 and 2018 FIFA World Cup tournaments.
