Mourinho pleased with 1-1

Chelsea’s latest Premier League match saw the team of Jose Mourinho having to settle with a 1-1 draw when playing against Manchester United. It was an ending result that did not satisfy Jose Mourinho as Chelsea had taken the lead at the 53rd minute with a powerful header from the iconic Didier Drogba and just when it looked like Chelsea was going to secure the victory; a late goal from Robin van Persie changed everything.

The goal from Robin van Persie arrived at the 94th minute after Branislav Ivanovic received his 2nd yellow card and was sent off from the pitch due to a challenge or a touch on Angel Di Maria.

This red card forced Chelsea on having to play with 10 players on the pitch for the remaining minutes of the match as well as also allowing Angel Di Maria to take a free-kick which was rightfully denied by Thibaut Courtois but the rebound allowed Robin van Persie to slam it home and rescue 1 point for Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho is infamous and known for not being afraid or shy on speaking his mind and not surprisingly, the Portuguese manager of Chelsea had a few things to say concerning Chelsea’s match against Manchester United.

“The penalty that Ivanovic should have been given [after wrestling with Smalling], the accumulation of yellow cards, the throw-ins. I know I speak always with my heart and get in trouble.”

“My team played a fantastic game, it’s not easy to play here against Manchester United, a Manchester United that tried to play very compact and hit us on the counter attack. We were fantastic, especially in the second half. It was a top-class performance, good control, we could score a couple more goals’’ Mourinho told the media after the match.

Chelsea were the favorites on winning this game but they had to settle with a 1-1 draw but despite conceding a late goal, Mourinho was pleased about what his team accomplished.
